During the 50s and 60s, Nederland underwent a massive civil engineering makeover. Almere (1976), Lelystand (1967), Zeewolde (1984) and Dronten (1962) (all in Flevoland) arose from the sea, as the Zuiderzee became landmass. These four photographs reflect Ger Dekkers' efforts, beginning around 1973, to document the Dutch landscape's unprecedented and surprising results
