The bottom poster features numerous photographs of Joseph Beuys' actions, such as tree-planting/farming, performance-lectures, sweeping Roma, fund-raising F.I.U. and his Difesa della Natura campaign; all shot between 1973 and 1984 by collector Buby Durini.
The top poster features images of dozens of Nicolas Garcia Uriburu ecologically-motivated actions. In 1968, he added the innocuous pigment fluorescein to the Canal Grande in Venezia, which caused it to turn green, alerting the public to the need for safe clean waterways. He repeated this action in scores of sites from Trafalgar Square to Haven van Antwerpen and more recently Riachuelo in Buenes Aires. A tree planter long before Beuys, he and Beuys colured der Rhein in Düsseldorf, which they bottled for posterity.
Following in their footsteps, Vera Thaens presented a bottle of creek water from the Bessunger Forest. Incidentally, this bottle of creek water is all that is left, since a rerouting of the stormwater runoff led to this this creek's elimination.
