This sculpture captures various cooking oils (soy, canola, walnut, peanut, olive, etc.) responding to changing temperatures over a five-month period. Hung from a tree, it was at equal risk of falling as it was of becoming destabilized by the wind. Containing 100 little balls filled with oil, delicately balanced one on top of the other, a brisk wind did upset many of the bottles, requiring routine maintenance to keep this otherwise sticky mess alluring.
